Check out lemon drop studio's latest - fabric covered button magnets - and boy are they fun! I just threw a set in the shop today, we'll see how they do! I love the fun fabrics, they are so sweet, simple and fun. Makes me think that you'll notice them and not the moldy leftovers inside the fridge!
I'll see ya'll tomorrow when I feature another great Etsy shop... stay tuned. In the meantime, I am off to enjoy the sunshine.
It's finally spring and I couldn't be more excited! As a fan of every season except winter, I am delighted that spring is here, along with wonderful colors, fun patterns and flowers coming up!
The newest scalloped circles in lemon drop studio's etsy shop are inspired by the spring rain, and they are a new favorite! I love the fun geometric pattern on the sky blue scallops, and the rain boots (or wellies) are almost too cute to handle. It's dizzying, right?!
lemon drop studio has been lucky enough to get the coolest orders for scalloped paper circles - they are being used as cupcake toppers, packaging for soaps and picture frames as well as for scrap-bookers and card makers. I think you guys are all so clever for coming up with so many fun ways to use these scallops!
If you have purchased scallops from me in the past and want to share what you used them for, I'd love to see pictures! Maybe I should start a Flickr group. Would you guys be interested? Let me know and we'll see what we can do!
Off to look at the rainbow right outside my window - ahhh, spring feels so nice!
Have a happy weekend, lemon heads!
Hi Dudes and Dudettes,
I am here to check in on all you lovelies. Are you doing well? Oh good!
Wait, actually I came by the blog to toot lemon drop studio's horn a little bit!
lemon drop studio's silhouettes were featured today on The Deco Detective's blog, which you should definitely go check out! What lovely things Trudi said about my little business and the prints that I love so much!
If you have a moment, go over and check out The Deco Detective's blog, it's great! Thanks so much, Trudi, I feel blessed!!
Oh, and I just put some new silhouettes up in lemon drop studio's shop on etsy, so go take a peek.
The other day I was lucky enough to receive an email from Misty, 1/2 of Simply Squared Designs, a wonderful husband and wife business making the COOLEST frames ever! Misty requested 500 scalloped paper circles to use as price tags for her frames, and of course I jumped at the chance to be involved with this amazing business, even if I just make the little 'ol tags, I wanted to be a part, because darn it, the frames are amazing, and they are just so nice!
So, 500 punches later, these are Misty and Donnie's new tags for their frames! Thank you so much for the order, Misty and Donnie! I look forward to working with you guys more, and I look forward to hanging a few of your frames in my home!
I am always, always happy to do custom orders, so please contact me if are dreaming up something fun! (and yes, to me, punching out 500 scallops was fun. is that weird?!)
Dude cards are selling like hot-cakes. Or like something. Something really cool and amazing.
I am working on replenishing lemon drop studio's etsy shop with more dude cards, so hang tight. I just put up a new one, and will be making more throughout the day and adding them here and in the shop.

Thanks for all the dude love. Erm, thanks for loving the dude cards. There, much better.
Thanks!!
Shauna
Dude. Dude cards have been a hit! I can't keep them in the etsy shop for long, and people gobbled them up at the last event I was at, Chocolate Fantasy.
This dude card that I made today is an all-time favorite. I love the green and orange, the polka dots, and the simplicity, with a dash of ribbon. So fun. Dude, so fun.
It's in the etsy shop now, you can click right HERE to snatch this card up before she's gone.
PS: How was the dude card born, you ask?! It was born the day my husband Trask suggested that I send Winn a card that said 'dude' on the front, because she really loves the word dude. I did this. And she liked it. I wanted to impress her, because I want her to like me. I hope it worked. We've been talking ever since.
A BIG SHOUT OUT: Thanks so much, Randi, for scooping up the dude card! I'll have it in the mail for you today! Thanks, thanks! You guys, Randi is a lemon drop studio blog follower with an adorable blog herself... go check it out here.
Something new, something new...
Barbara Walters just loves lemon drop studio cards. Or she would if she received one. But she hasn't, yet. Make your friends feel like stars and send them a lemon drop studio card. It'll feel so good.
$45 gets you 'super rad friend's club' status. What does that mean, you ask? It means you become part of a club. A club that sends you 2 lemon drop studio cards to your home each month, for 6 months.
Cards will be sent the first week of each month. The first 2 cards will be sent upon payment, and then the following month you will receive your second set, and so on.
Random cards will be sent, but all will be lemon drop studio originals, nicely made with love and care and plenty of fun. Cards you may receive could be birthday cards, thank you cards, dude cards, celebrate cards, love cards and more.
You can go here, to my lovely little etsy shop, to check out the friends clubs. There are other club options as well, just look in the shop.
*PS: Barbara Walters doesn't know about lemon drop studio cards, but I think if she did, she'd like them.
*PPS: $45 is all you'll pay. That includes shipping each month - so no worries.
Good news, good news!
Picture from Paper*Cakes Finds
lemon drop studio has been featured today on a cutie-patootie blog called Paper*Cakes Finds and I am just so excited!
My sock monkey button gift tags are on Paper*Cakes Finds today, along with a bunch of other cute nuggets of fun from other sellers on etsy. I think you need to go check out the blog and add it to your favorites - it's a keeper.
Thanks for featuring my tags, Chelsea! You are truly kind and super talented!!
Want to win these lovely ladies pictured above? These fine, fabulous, rad 'dude' cards were designed with style, fun, simplicity and sass in mind, by lemon drop studio {me!}.
I am lucky enough that Winn of WendiWinn likes me, or at least tolerates me (which can be tricky), and she is hosting a giveaway for my cards. I am posting this just a tiny bit early, to get you guys all ready to go!!
So stay tuned and look for the giveaway coming soon. You'll be glad you did. And while you are waiting, fall in love with WendiWinn's blog. She's funnier than I am. Guaranteed.
Hi Friends! Sorry for the lack of posting lately, I have been busy getting ready for Chocolate Fantasy, as it's now about 3 weeks away.
I have been playing with all sorts of valentine day cards and popped by today to show some off. I am slowly listing them in my etsy shop, but will be selling them at Chocolate Fantasy as well. I don't seem to sell many cards on etsy, mostly my ponytail holders and clips, but thought I'd stick them on etsy just in case!! I am loving the 'green', nature-inspired paper that I've been using, it's a new fave, for sure, and the faux-wood on some of the cards - to die for!
Anyway, enjoy the sneak peek, and if you get a hankering, come on by the etsy shop for a bit!!

Much loves!!
I must be thinking of sea creatures lately, because my next silhouette line I just created is our friendly octopus, and he's a cutie! He is already listed in the shop if you wanted to go take a peek. The color is 'tangerine' on the color palette, and isn't it lovely? I sure think so!
lemon drop studio would like to share a free VALENTINE'S DAY CARD tutorial for all of my friends, family, followers and stalkers. This is my first tutorial I have ever created, I hope you like it. If you have any questions at all, leave me a comment and I'll get back to you! Enjoy and happy card making!

::GOODIES YOU WILL NEED::
Note that you do not need to use the exact same supplies that I used - mix it up and use a different stamp, paper, ribbon or whatever and make it your own!! This is a great technique for any card, just switch the papers and stamp and there you have it.
papers
- light green card stock with raised white polka dots (background)
- dark pink textured card stock
- light pink shimmer card stock
- plain white card stock or blank card (base)
tools
- exacto knife
- paper corner rounder
- 2" and 1-1/2" scalloped circle punch
- paper slicer/cutter
- scissors
- hot glue gun
- bone paper folder
goodies
- cupcake stamp and ink
- glue stick
- adhesive tabs
- rhinestones
- glitter glue
- ribbon (about 16")
Step One:
Fold base white card stock paper in half using your bone folder to make a crisp crease, making a card that measures 4.25 inches by 5.5 inches. This is the base of your card, everything is built from this.
Step Two:
Put adhesive tabs and glue on the front of your base card and place your background paper down on the front of the card. Use your bone folder to smooth the paper down and ensure a good bond. Trim the paper edges with your paper cutter or scissors so it is the same size as the top of your card. Your card now has a background. Some may want to cut the paper down before you glue it down, but I find this way easiest for me.
Step Three:
Use your corner rounder tool to round the two outside corners of your card. This is totally optional, but I think it gives the card a fun, polished look. Set your card to the side, we'll work on embellishments next.
Step Four:
Using your 2" punch, punch out a scalloped circle in the pink shimmer paper.
Step Five:
Using your 1-1/2" punch, punch out a scalloped circle in the dark pink paper. Aren't scalloped circles just lovely? I could eat them up.
Step Six:
Adhere the small scalloped circle on top of the larger scalloped circle using your glue stick or your adhesive tabs. Stamp the cupcake on the smaller scalloped circle. Stick your rhinestone on the top of the cupcake and embellish your cupcake a little bit with your glitter glue to add more detail and dimension and pizazz. Set aside the embellishment to dry.
Step Seven:
Open up your card and use your exacto knife to make a small slit in the spine of your card, long enough to slide your ribbon through. Pull the ribbon through the card as pictured. Close your card and bring the ribbon to the front, tying up the front of the card. Make a knot or a bow, or whatever tickles your fancy. You can put the knot in the middle or to one of the sides, either way it's cute!! Cut the ends of the ribbon if you need to.

Step Eight:
Take your embellishment and affix it to the front of your card using adhesive tabs, glue, 3-D adhesive tabs or hot glue. Tuck the top of the embellishment under the knot or bow, making it look like the ribbon is holding the embellishment in place.
Step Nine:
There's your Valentine Day Card!! Take a picture of your creation and email it to me, I would love to see them!! (lemondropstudio@gmail.com)
Hip, Hip, Hooray! From lemon drop studio to all of you, Happy Valentine's Day.

Happy New Year to all of my followers, friends and family! lemon drop studio hopes that 2009 is full of adventure, fun, hope, random acts of kindness, growth and lemony goodness.
There has recently been a monster invasion here at lemon drop studio. Luckily for us, the monsters are extremely polite, helpful and kind, although Toby is a bit flatulent - he's too cute not to forgive. Taylor has named the monsters. The orange fella with wings is Toby and the nervous-looking green guy is Dodie.

These cute monsters can be found in lemon drop studio's shop as prints in 8x10, 5x7 and 4x6 sizes. I heard them whispering that while they are happy here, they'd like new homes.
Every once in awhile I have a stroke of genius, a brilliant idea, if you will... and I think I just had one. Maybe. Proceed to find out more...
People like choices. Right? You don't? Well, most people do. And I am all about giving people choices.
Now, for the first time, lemon drop studio has an option of choosing your own collection of penny ponytail holders, making it completely yours and completely unique.
Above is the picture of the first batch of choices. You get to pick five. I swear, sometimes I amaze myself... and stop by the shop if you want more details. You can visit the shop anytime you'd like, but how about now? Click here.
I would love to introduce another collection of penny ponytail holders to you, fresh from lemon drop studio's shop - The Bella Collection.
Lovely, right? I love the chocolate brown along with the light purple, not a color combination I thought I would enjoy until I sat the fabrics next to one another. It makes me think about Valentine's Day, which seems to be right around the corner. The Bella Collection is pleased to meet you all...
Stay tuned for more Valentine's Day goodies, coming soon!
